Marika Hackman -Introducing
Although not bringing anything particularly new to the table Marika Hackman’s enchanting vocal cannot fail to captivate you. It’s not often i spin a new artist and think this is the real deal, this girl could in my opinion be huge in 2013. There is a fragility in the vocal at times that probably belies her full range girls and acoustic guitars and a sparse sound have always wowed me but this is special. I have been loving her twist on some classic tracks from her recent covers e.p listen HERE .Described pretty perfectly as the love child of Nico and Johanna Newsom her debut mini album ‘That Iron Taste’ drops via Dirty Hit on Feb 25th.
